Job Purpose
The main purpose of a maintenance technician is to ensure that equipment, machinery, and buildings remain in good working order by performing routine and emergency repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance to guarantee smooth, efficient, and safe operations and to minimize downtime. Identify and fix mechanical, electrical, and structural issues to maintain facilities and equipment in the best possible condition.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, creating a safe working environment for all team members. Ensures that the machines are in compliance with the Safety Critical Risks standards.
* Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and equipment to minimize downtime. This includes repairing, adjusting, and replacing defective parts.
* Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
* Maintaining Facility & Equipment Integrity: Keep buildings, grounds, and all associated systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) in good repair and functioning as intended
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities as part of the sites CMMS, including work orders, parts inventory, and equipment manuals.
* Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to unexpected equipment breakdowns, identifying and resolving issues swiftly to minimize production interruptions.
* Machine Setup: Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and fine-tuning to meet production requirements.
* Spare Parts Management: Keep track of spare parts inventory, order necessary parts, and maintain an organized spare parts storage area.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with the Maintenance Engineers, Team Leaders, Production Operators to diagnose problems, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Meeting Attendance: Participate in necessary meetings that guide the Maintenance Action Plan, ensuring adherence to compliance within the specified timeframes.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Cleanroom manufacturing experience essential
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a highly regulated manufacturing essential
* Relevant 3rd Level College or a Trade qualification desirable.
* Mechanical and/or Electrical experience desirable
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
* Knowledge of Printing/Slitting/Pouching processes desirable

* Manual assembly and dexterity
* Problem- solving skills.
* Ability to self-learn and take on responsibility.
* Excellent communication skills & ability to work in cross functional teams.
* Working knowledge of a CMMS.
