What is the role?
The EHS Graduate will play a key supporting role within the Environmental, Health & Safety function, contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS systems across the organisation. This position will provide direct support to the wider EHS Team, with exposure to multi‑site operations including Dangan, Parkmore and Shannon.
The successful candidate will assist in driving EHS compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate EHS standards.
Responsibilities will include coordinating EHS administration, supporting risk management activities, facilitating training, and contributing to both site‑level and global EHS initiatives.
This role offers a strong development pathway, providing the graduate with hands‑on practical experience across manufacturing environments and global EHS frameworks.
Key responsibilities
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s EHS Management System (14001/45001) across all sites.
Assist in maintaining the EHS Risk Assessment programme, ensuring hazards are identified, risks are assessed, and appropriate control measures are implemented and reviewed.
Coordinate and participate in scheduled EHS inspections and audits, ensuring timely close‑out of findings and corrective actions.
Support accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and tracking of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and delivery of EHS training programmes, including new employee inductions and refresher training.
Collaborate with the Global EHS Lead and Senior EHS Specialist on the development, standardisation, and rollout of EHS policies, procedures, and global initiatives.
Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of EHS KPIs across sites, supporting data analysis and continuous improvement actions.
Engage with line managers and supervisors to promote a proactive safety culture, providing guidance and coaching where required.
Support cross‑site EHS projects and initiatives, ensuring consistency and alignment with global standards.
Participate in regular EHS review meetings to track performance, progress, and priorities.
Assist with environmental management activities, including waste management, sustainability initiatives, and compliance obligations.
Provide support to facilities‑related EHS requirements as needed across all sites.
Undertake additional responsibilities and project work as assigned by the Global EHS Lead.
Education and experience required
Degree (or pending) in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of EHS principles, legislation, and best practices, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Previous internship, placement, or project experience in EHS is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to analyse problems, identify root causes, and support effective solutions.
Knowledge & Understanding of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) & 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) Standards.
Key skills
Working knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification.
Awareness of environmental management practices, including waste, energy, water and sustainability (desirable).
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Proactive, self‑motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Flexibility and willingness to travel between Dangan, Parkmore and Shannon sites as required.
Adaptability to work within a dynamic, fast‑paced, and evolving environment.
