HR & Transport Operations Manager Sanderson is partnering with a specialist transport provider to appoint an HR & Transport Operations Manager on an initial temporary contract basis for 6-9 months with a view to extension or a potential long term opportunity. This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for HR operations, recruitment workforce planning & rostering and operational oversight of a frontline transport service. The role reports into the Service Operations Lead. The role You will lead a team of drivers and passenger assistants delivering a critical community service, while also owning the end-to-end HR agenda. This is a blended HR and operations role, requiring someone comfortable operating across: People leadership Workforce planning and rostering Employee relations Recruitment Compliance You will work closely with senior management to ensure the service runs effectively, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities Lead, manage and develop a multi-site team of drivers and support staff Own workforce planning and rostering to ensure full service coverage Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding Handle employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence Operate in a unionised environment, managing relationships and representation Drive reporting on headcount, attendance, retention, and workforce risk Ensure compliance across: Employment legislation Transport regulation Safeguarding and service standards What they are looking for Proven experience in a hands-on HR & Rostering type of role Strong employee relations and employment law capability Experience with rostering and workforce planning in an operational environment Track record managing volume hiring and front-line workforces Comfortable operating in a unionised or highly regulated environment Strong stakeholder skills with a practical, delivery-focused approach Nice to have: Experience in transport, healthcare, or services sectors Exposure to driver compliance, CPC or regulated workforce environments CIPD qualification Skills: Senior HR Generalist HR Manager HR Lead
