Automation Engineer Job
This role involves overseeing the Automation Maintenance function within an organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum service availability, efficiency and safe systems of work in a 24x7 environment.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Planning and Targets: Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within environmental limits.
2. Maintenance Function Execution: Conduct maintenance functions under site-specific safety rules, preparing method statements and risk assessments as required.
3. Preventive Maintenance Recording: Record Preventative Maintenance tasks into the maintenance management system to ensure efficient completion of PMs and defects.
4. Automation System Modification: Modify DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) automation systems as needed for new projects or updates.
5. Emissions Monitoring System Maintenance : Perform emissions monitoring system maintenance according to procedures to ensure maximum reliability. Cyber Threat Protection : Actively identify vulnerabilities with IT/OT security teams to implement mitigations against cyber threats.
- Third-level engineering qualification or relevant process experience.- Five+ years' industry experience with Instrument Control/Automation.- Understanding Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), RTU, etc.- Experience in Instrument Control/Automation operations in Power Plant/Wind Farms preferred.
