We are seeking a motivated and forward‑thinking Senior Civil Engineer who is eager to make a positive impact through both technical expertise and a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of civil engineering design across a range of projects, with a particular focus on active travel and urban infrastructure schemes.
Take responsibility for the delivery of designs through all project stages, including feasibility, preliminary, detailed design, and construction support.
Design and develop roads, junctions, and streetscapes incorporating walking, cycling, and public realm improvements.
Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables in accordance with relevant Irish standards and guidance (e.g., DMURS, NTA, TII, TSM).
Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including landscape architects and structural engineers, to deliver integrated urban solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to technicians and junior engineers.
Participate in client, stakeholder, and project team meetings.
Undertake site visits for surveys, inspections, and construction support as required.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and contract documentation.
Support project planning and programming to ensure deadlines are met.
Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders as part of the design and approval process.
Contribute to design reviews with a focus on safety, accessibility, sustainability, and buildability.
Support the quality assurance process and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience working on civil engineering projects, with significant exposure to urban infrastructure and/or active travel schemes.
Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
Proven track record of successfully delivering civil projects across multiple design stages.
Strong understanding of Irish design standards and guidance (DMURS, NTA, TII, TSM, etc.).
Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior staff is desirable.
Progress toward or interest in professional accreditation (e.g. Chartered Engineer) is preferred.
