The Hotel Kilmore in Cavan, part of Calusade Hotels group, is currently hiring an Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager. POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager is responsible for supporting the Conference & Banqueting Manager in ensuring the smooth, efficient and professional delivery of all events within the hotels conference and banqueting facilities. The role includes oversight of weddings, conferences, gala dinners, meetings and private functions, ensuring operational excellence, attention to detail and exceptional guest experiences at all times. This position contributes directly to guest satisfaction, team performance and the overall commercial success of the Conference & Banqueting department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Event Setup & Breakdown Supervise and coordinate the setup and breakdown of all event spaces ensuring layouts, décor, AV and service equipment meet event specifications and hotel standards. Team Leadership & Service Standards Lead the floor team during events, conduct briefings, allocate duties and ensure smooth, professional service delivery. Coordination & Communication Liaise with kitchen, events office and operational departments to ensure all event requirements are met and act as the main operational contact during events. Room Configuration & Inventory Control Ensure rooms are configured as per function sheets and maintain control of banqueting equipment, linen, glassware and décor. Health & Safety Compliance Maintain a safe working environment in line with hotel policies and legal standards. Administrative Support Assist with daily event reports, timesheets, staffing coordination and operational improvements. 3. STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE - Maintain professional presentation, punctuality and leadership by example. - Ensure event spaces are clean, safe and visually aligned with brand standards. - Adhere to Fire, Health & Safety, hygiene and security policies at all times. - Report maintenance issues, damages or shortages promptly. - Support the hotels vision, mission and core values in all interactions. 4. CANDIDATE PROFILE - Previous experience in conference, banqueting or hospitality supervision required. - Strong organisational and multitasking ability. - Excellent leadership and people management skills. - Calm and proactive approach to problem-solving. - High standard of personal presentation and communication. - Strong understanding of guest service standards and brand expectations. 5.
