Nursing Allocations Officer Grade VII Department of Nursing and Healthcare Sciences (Permanent Contract) The successful applicant will be based in the Kerry Campus.

Minimum Requirements: Be registered on a Division of the Register for Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) - or be eligible to be so registered.

Have relevant experience as a Registered Nurse Administration experience in the management of professionally accredited education programmes and data bases used to support delivery of such programmes Full Driving Licence Desirable: Hold an Honours Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare area Knowledge of Hospital Information Technology and ongoing developments in digital healthcare Previous experience of clinical allocations in the healthcare setting Knowledge of clinical risk management Experience of administration in the Higher Education sector Role Description Summary: Interaction and engagement with academic colleagues and clinical partners through established forums such as the Local Joint Workgroup on Undergraduate Nurse Education.

Responsible for the organisation and development of new clinical sites for undergraduate, postgraduate, nursing and healthcare programmes to meet regional and national demands.

Strategic development of national and international placements with private and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Department.

Assist in the Development of guidance for nursing students in practice placements.

Assist in the Development and delivery of key strategic objectives of the Department regarding pre-registration education.

Undertake the educational audit in approving practice placement providers with emphasis on pre-registration education.

Provide assistance to the nurse and midwife linked practice community on issues specific to nursing student welfare.

Duties Reporting to the Head of Department, Nursing, the key responsibilities and duties may include but are notlimitedto: Assist in the promotion of continuous quality improvement through educational audit of the clinical learning environment To organise and manage students entry onto programmes within the Department of Nursing and Healthcare in line with NMBI/HSE requirements and procedures, and MTU regulations.

To organise and manage undergraduate nursing student registration on the candidate registrar of nursing students with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and to ensure that continuing students and repeat learners in compliance with professional requirements in line with MTU regulations.

To co-ordinate all necessary arrangements in relation to verification of applications for nursing graduates from MTU to register with the professional regulator.

To assist in the co-ordination of and implement policies and procedures in relation to clinical attendance in line with professional regulatory requirements.

To assist in the management of and coordinate the Clinical Allocations System (ARC) to ensure Clinical Placement meets all professional regulatory requirements.

To lead and contribute to the preparation, development and implementation of MTU strategies, policies and procedures for Clinical Placement.

To co-ordinate the preparation of student statistical returns and analyses in collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Nursing and Healthcare and Associated Clinical Healthcare Providers (ACHP) in preparing the Annual Report for professionally accredited programmes within the Department of Nursing and Healthcare.

To maintain appropriate student clinical transcripts in conjunction with the Dean of Faculty, Heads of Department, and other relevant staff within the Department of Nursing and Healthcare Sciences.

To be responsible for the efficient management of the staff and systems within the area.

To contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance and improvement systems of MTU as appropriate.

To advise on/promote/organise/participate in, as appropriate, staff development programmes.

To participate in all committees/groups, both internal and external, on which the appointee is a member or is assigned.

To contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate management information systems in Nursing Allocations.

To contribute to the strategic development of the function.

To report and provide information on the services and operation of the administration function as required from time to time.

To undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by MTU Authorities.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week 6.

Terms of the Appointment Salary Scale Grade VII as at 1/8/2025: €60,011 €78,016 Hours of Work 35hoursperweek Annual leave:29 days per annum 7.

The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, United Kingdom along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply.

It is an offence under the Employment Permits Acts 2003 and 2006 for both an employer and an employee if a non-EEA National is in employment without an appropriate employment permit.

Employment permit holders can only work for the employer named on the permit.
