Missions/Main Duties

The Site Engineer will support the NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor in monitoring and assuring the quality, safety, and compliance of civil engineering construction works on site. The role focuses on practical site supervision, inspection, and record keeping — ensuring that works delivered by the Design and Build Contractor meet the standards, specifications, and requirements set out in the contract and project scope.

This is a hands‑on site role, ideal for an experienced site engineer or site manager with a strong understanding of civil construction and an interest in developing quality and assurance expertise. Duties:

* Monitor workmanship, materials, and testing activities against approved drawings, specifications, and inspection/test plans (ITPs).
* Maintain detailed and accurate site records, photographs, and inspection reports.
* Identify and record defects or non‑conformances and support their closeout through the project team.
* Check that Contractor’s temporary works, traffic management, and safety arrangements comply with approved method statements and permits.
* Support environmental, safety, and quality audits on site.
* Liaise with the Contractor’s engineers, foremen, and quality representatives to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues.
* Assist in the preparation and review of inspection forms, test records, and red‑line markups for as‑built documentation.
* Participate in progress meetings and provide factual updates on workmanship and testing.
* Support the NEC4 Project Supervisor with reporting, assurance dashboards, and records for handover.
* Promote continuous improvement and good practice in construction quality and safety management.

* Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and testing requirements.

* Strong attention to detail, proactive approach to problem‑solving, and ability to work independently on site.
* Previous experience working under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
* Experience with inspection and test planning, quality records, or site assurance documentation.
