The role of Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist is a key position in our team, responsible for leading the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessments for large-scale Renewable Energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the EIA process for large-scale Renewable Energy Projects, delivering the Environmental Impact Assessment Report and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statement for the proposed development.
* Provide environmental expertise to assist the Planning Team and inform the Business Unit Strategy to ensure compliance with Planning and Environmental issues.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in planning/environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans to maximise outcomes.
* Contribute to submissions as required.
* Assist the Stakeholder and Advocacy team with effective project plans for managing communications and consultation with local communities and other relevant stakeholders.
* Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist the procurement team in various stages of associated procurement processes.
* Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety and Environmental policies and EU and National policies and statutory requirements.
* Assist with the upskilling and mentoring of junior staff, particularly focusing on the EIA and Appropriate Assessment processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Hons Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent is required.
* Post Graduate (Level 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in leading EIAR and AA/NIS preparation for large-scale projects is essential.
* Expertise in leading the delivery of EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for large-scale development projects is essential.
* Understanding of the EIA process and Irish planning policy and legislation in relation to the EIA is essential.
