ST-15 Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomechanics, Sport Science, and Ergonomics
Contract: Full Time/Fixed Term
The Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomechanics and Human Motion Analytics. The role involves leading applied research in human motion analytics, focusing on sports science and worker safety, within the context of wireless sensor systems for body and near-body applications.
The successful candidate will oversee an applied research agenda, manage a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to research proposal writing, dissemination, and supervision of postgraduate students. Responsibilities include defining research projects, ensuring timely delivery, developing intellectual property, and collaborating with academic and industry partners.
Minimum requirements include a PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with 1-2 years of postdoctoral or industrial research experience, a strong track record in biomechanics and motion analytics, proficiency in Matlab/Python, experience with motion capture systems, and a proven publication record. Project management skills and the ability to secure research funding are essential.
This is a 24-month contract with potential for extension, with salary in the range of €41,207 to €47,477 per annum, based on experience and public sector pay policies.
