This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. Western Alzheimers is currently recruiting for Healthcare Support Assistants within our in‑home Respite Sitter Service / Day Care. This is a CE Placement and a great opportunity for someone looking to return to work, up‑skill and gain further experience working with our elderly clients, in a person‑centered healthcare setting. Are you kind, reliable, patient and a good listener? Our in‑home respite sitter service may be the perfect job for you, while also allowing you to further your career, by participating in healthcare support training which will help you achieve your QQI /FETAC Level 5. Coaching and mentoring will be provided, to develop your confidence and competencies within your role. Duties include caring for people with Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia, assisting with personal care, preparing meals, social engagement, stimulating therapeutic activities, and more. Eligibility & Qualifications
Eligibility to participate on CE: 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more, or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups.
Applicants should supply suitable character references.
Garda vetting required.
Car and full driver’s licence essential.
Accredited training will be provided to achieve QQI /FETAC Level 5.
