Prime is a full-service metal building and metal building component manufacturing company.
We design, engineer, and supply metal buildings and manufacture everything that goes into a metal building including roof panels, trim, wall panels, purlins, rafters, and columns.

SUMMARY:
Our Welder is responsible for reading blueprints and shop drawings to perform welding related work orders on prefabricated structural steel for various engineering jobs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Study and interpret drawings or blueprints to understand structural welding requirements.
Perform MIG welding process.
Select appropriate welding tools and equipment based on the job requirements.
Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
Operate beam rotators, beam transfers, or other machines as required.
Operate magnetic drill or other tools as required.
Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Detect and correct defects in welds, such as porosity or incomplete penetration.
Perform maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and detect flaws in equipment as needed.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass a 1G Limited Weld Test.
Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.

Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
Frequently required to talk or hear.
Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
Occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
