Macklin Care Homes is excited to announce the opening of a new Mental Health Residential Facility at Our Lady’s Care Home, Belfast. The facility will aim to provide mental health services including assessment, treatment, and therapeutic work.
We are actively recruiting Relief Senior Support Workers. The successful candidate will use their compassion and clinical experience to help deliver exceptional care to residents with various mental health conditions.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate positively with residents who may present challenges.
* Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive, and resident-accessible care plans.
* Encourage and support residents in managing their medication effectively.
* Assist residents in building skills and fostering independence.
* Help residents with daily tasks, including personal care, shopping, and household responsibilities.
* Assist in scheduling and accompanying residents to medical and personal appointments.
* Maintain accurate documentation.
* Ensure adherence to house rules for a safe environment.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
* Maintain positive communication with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in a mental health environment with the necessary level of care.
* Familiarity with The Mental Health Order (1986) and its practical application.
* Understanding of current mental health care approaches.

* Ability to manage challenging situations constructively.

What you will need
Required criteria
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mental Health Unit/Facility.
* Empathetic, patient, and compassionate.
* Understanding of mental health illnesses and care levels.
* Good medical health.
Desired criteria
* Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Experience in a Mental Health support role within a Care Home.
