Cork Airport, part of the daa group, is Ireland's second-largest serving over 3 million passengers annually. There is now an exciting opportunity for a Resident Engineer to join the team and contribute to future development of airport terminal and campus facilities.
The Resident Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Airfield and Engineering in all aspects of airport operations and development as well as the wider teams supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with airport operations and asset management teams to ensure the smooth integration of infrastructure projects into ongoing airport activities, minimizing disruptions and maximizing operational efficiency.
The candidate will also be responsible for managing minor infrastructure projects, supporting essential maintenance programmes, and ensuring adherence to all safety, environmental and EASA protocols.
Fulltime onsite presence is essential to this role and on call will be required at weekends/out of hours.

This is a key role at Cork Airport.
• Lead the project management of key projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
• Manage contract administration related to civil engineering projects, playing a lead role in tendering processes, contract negotiations, and contractor performance.
• Collaborate with asset management teams to ensure infrastructure maintenance and compliance with regulatory standards and maintenance schedules.
• Oversee the application and management of necessary permit controls for construction and maintenance activities, ensuring smooth project progression and regulatory adherence.
• Upskill on all elements of airfield management and compliance by shadowing the Resident Engineer & Head of Airfield Infrastructure.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, including local and national authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations related to airfield infrastructure. Experience with airport-specific regulatory bodies (IAA, DOT, ICAO) is preferred but not essential.
• Oversee the delivery of the Cork Airport Sustainability strategy.
• Provide regular reporting and communication to the Resident Engineer/Head of Airfield Infrastructure and senior management on project progress, financial status, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Oversee minor project management related to including refurbishment, repairs, and operational upgrades.
• Work closely with operations and asset management teams to ensure projects align with operational needs, minimizing disruption to aviation operational activities.
• Ensure all projects comply with risk and safety management protocols, adhering to airport safety regulations and environmental standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures where necessary.
• Manage budgeting for projects, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective delivery of all assigned projects.
