At OCEANR, we create premium, sustainable apparel and merchandise for some of the world's leading hospitality brands. We're on a mission to make sustainability the norm, not the exception, and our passionate team is central to this vision. If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and want to make a meaningful impact, OCEANR is the place for you.
We are growing our Finance team in Cork and looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant. Reporting into the CFO, this is a dynamic role where you'll not only keep our financial systems running smoothly, but also help shape the connection between finance, production, and customer success.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoy seeing your work directly impact company performance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
The role supports three key functions:
Finance & Accounting Operations
* Maintain day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
* Support month-end and year-end close, including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
* Assist in preparing management accounts, cash flow summaries, and variance analysis; and partner with the CFO to identify and implement process improvements
Customer Success Partnership
* Work closely with the Customer Success team to manage the order-to-cash cycle efficiently and transparently.
* Oversee accurate and timely invoicing, credit control, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, monitoring accounts to ensure payment timeliness and escalating any concerns appropriately.
Production & Operations Liaison
* Collaborate with our Riga Production team to track and reconcile job costs, material usage, and inventory movement.
* Assist in maintaining accurate costing models and ensure that financial data reflects operational performance.
* Support inventory and work-in-progress reconciliations between operations and finance systems.
What We Are looking for
* Accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment.
* Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
* Proven proficiency with accounting software (ideally Xero), with advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to translate numbers into clear insights for non-financial colleagues.
What We Offer
* A high-impact role that connects finance to the heart of operations and customer experience.
* Opportunity to work with leadership and gain cross-functional exposure in a growing business.
* A collaborative culture that values initiative, continuous learning, and teamwork.
* Competitive salary package, professional development support, and flexible working arrangements after probation.
If you're looking for a hands-on finance role that combines accounting, operations, and customer engagement, we'd love to hear from you.
Benefits:
* Bike to work scheme
* Company events
* Employee discount
* On-site parking
