Mission
The role of Fleet and Transport Manager for Colas Contracting requires an individual to be accessible to all locations in Ireland and Northern Ireland, overseeing multiple facilities.
The position offers a wide scope for decision-making within the confines of agreed annual plans and budgets.
This role is responsible for all the company’s commercial vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks, trailers, and specialist vehicles, as well as managing approximately thirty staff members.
Main Responsibilities
Budget
* Prepare and plan annual maintenance budget expenditure.
* Develop and present Capex plans.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of planning OPEX (Operational Expenditure).
* Optimize fleet and transport costs to maximize profit, keeping capital and expenses within budget.
* Analyze fleet data and recommend improvements for fleet tracking and data analytics.
* Handle urgent and emergency repairs as needed.
* Report on fleet progress, including budget, schedule, maintenance, and general updates to management.
Asset Management
* Manage insurance listings.
* Ensure fleet compliance.
* Assign vehicles to drivers.
Maintenance
* Oversee all fleet maintenance functions, establish maintenance standards, and ensure facilities are capable and safe.
* Manage garages to schedule maintenance, including planned, unplanned, and predictive maintenance.
Profile
* Qualifications: Certificate in Professional Competence in Transport Management; Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in fleet and transport management or a similar role.
* Knowledge of best practices in fleet management.
* Must be appointed in writing as a Transport Manager.
* Ideally possess ADR/DGSA certification.
