We are now seeking an
experienced, trade-focused Assistant Branch Manager
to support the day-to-day running of our busy North Cork branch, with a strong emphasis on
trade counter sales, contractor relationships, and operational excellence
.
The Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager and Senior Management, this is a
hands-on leadership role
supporting trade customers on a daily basis.
You will work directly with builders and contractors, ensuring fast, efficient service while driving branch sales, managing stock, and leading the trade counter team.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, with a strong focus on
trade counter activity and contractor service
Lead and motivate the trade counter and yard teams to deliver fast, knowledgeable, and reliable service to trade customers
Build and maintain strong working relationships with
builders, contractors, and tradespeople
, understanding their needs and timelines
Drive trade sales performance by proactively identifying opportunities, upselling products, and supporting account growth
Assist with stock control and ordering to ensure key trade lines are always available
Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and safe working practices across the branch
Deputise for the Branch Manager when required, ensuring continuity of service and standards
Liaise closely with suppliers to support trade requirements and product availability
About You
Proven experience in a
supervisory or management role within a builders providers, trade counter, or construction supply environment
Strong knowledge of building materials and trade products
Confident dealing directly with
professional trade customers
in a fast-paced environment
Commercially aware and sales-driven, with experience growing trade accounts
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS / stock systems
Full driving licence
