Overall Purpose of the Supply Chain Management DepartmentIt is the role of the Procurement department to give the best possible professional service to our internal customers, so that they can provide the exceptional nursing care in line with this mission statement.
It is the responsibility of the Procurement Department to design and implement the strategic & administrative Procurement policies and procedures.
The Procurement Department will add value by delivering exceptional service, as well as advice in procurement and inventory control that ultimately result in overall cost savings.
A clear understanding of the supply needs of each department, the business needs of Beacon Hospital and up to date knowledge of Procurement principles must be maintained.
At the day to day level the Procurement Department will manage the purchasing of all stocks, equipment and services within the theatre department.Overall Purpose of the JobThe Surgical Supplies Data Validator will play an essential role in assisting the Procurement, supply chain and theatre teams in creating up-to-date and functional preference cards for procedures performed throughout the hospital, helping to ensure that clinical department can achieve their overall purpose as described.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Work with clinical staff to effectively document the preferences of each consultant for each procedure type.Works with clinical staff to identify preference card requirementsAids in the identification and implementation of a digital solution for preference cardsDocuments preference cards information in a sensical and pragmatic wayWork with finance and billing to incorporate the relevant insurance codes, associated with each procedure, to the preference cardLiaise with pharmacy and additional clinical staff to capture costs of stock not currently on preference cards, including drugs and blood productsHighlights, on preference cards, stock that should not be opened unless instructed by the clinicianReview the usage of stock that 'should not be opened' pre- and post- preference cards are updated to monitor improvementsAlongside procurement and supply chain teams, aid in the data cleanse of the item masterIdentify products on preference cards that are discontinued - update them to the current product used and make said product 'obsolete' on Sage Aid in the identification and implementation of stock management systems Develop key processes and procedures that ensure continuous improvement.
Maintain the accuracy of Procurement system information as it relates to inventory control.Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.Participates in any other Projects as required.Adhere to all Beacon Hospital Health and Safety process and procedures.Adhere to all Beacon Hospital JCI requirements.Provide cover for the other roles within the Procurement and Material Management Department if required.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Manage the Pharmacy Fluids as required.Coordinates with Theatre management and attends all required meetings.
