Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will provide engineering support to the Operations and Sales Teams related to service products and process developments/qualifications. The Process Engineer will support efforts to improve cost-efficiency (yield and labor), reduce cycle times in existing products and services, and assist with new business opportunities. They will also help investigate and propose new equipment, procedures, and methods to enhance processes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement
* Troubleshoot issues with existing equipment and processes, recommend and implement solutions.
* Investigate and propose new production procedures and automation methods to enhance efficiency.
* Complete implementation of process changes using the General Process Change control system, including progress reports and evaluations.
* Run test programs to identify key variables for process optimization, using techniques like ANOVA and DOE. Collect and analyze data, develop conclusions and recommendations.
* Assist with Ramp Plan, Control Plan, and Sourcing Plan processes.
* Complete Continuous Improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma & Lean techniques to improve metrics such as Cost of Quality, Customer Complaints, Yield, and Productivity, increasing organizational effectiveness and reducing cycle time.
* Act as the 8D champion for complaint resolution, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
Product & Process Development
* Collaborate with Product Development and T&I to follow the New Product Development process, completing manufacturing-related documentation.
* Develop SOPs and Process Flow Diagrams for new or modified products and processes.
* Complete General Process Change control documents for process changes.
* Develop standard work and assist in operator training.
* Coordinate with Sales and off-site teams to align with customer engineering teams.
Process Control
* Conduct Process Audits and resolve findings.
* Identify critical process metrics for monitoring.
* Ensure safety and hazard reviews are conducted for new or modified equipment and procedures.
* Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps, FMEA’s, and Control Plans for assigned processes.
* Apply Six Sigma principles to drive process improvements.
Supervisory Requirements
* Lead project teams for continuous improvement and corrective actions.
* Uphold safety and ethical standards, collaborating with EHS & Quality departments.
* Support T&I in Stage Gate reviews for new processes.
* Assist in Change Control processes.
Capital Investment
* Support the development and execution of Capital Investment Plans.
* Contribute to investment strategy development, project budgeting, planning, and management.
* Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
* Support EHS, Continuous Improvement, and Growth projects.

Education/Skills/Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing preferred).
* Manufacturing process experience required.
* Experience in the PVD industry and Semiconductor/Data Storage industry is preferred but not necessary.
* Strong materials/metallurgy background preferred.
* Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
* Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or AutoCAD), MS Office, and Statistical Software.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and ICT skills.
* Strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, detail-oriented, self-motivated.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead diverse project teams.
