As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records and documentation across all projects phases for large-scale renewable energy projects. You will ensure that controlled documents are properly maintained, distributed, tracked and archived in compliance with company standards, ISO requirements and client expectations.
Key Accountabilities
* Establish and maintain document control systems and workflows for EPC projects.
* Receive, review, log, distribute, and archive all incoming and outgoing documentation, including drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, permits, and correspondence.
* Ensure version control and proper status labelling of all controlled documents in line with company procedures.
* Coordinate with internal departments (engineering, procurement, construction, HSE) and external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, suppliers) for timely document submissions and approvals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical records, ensuring traceability and easy retrieval.
* Support quality assurance processes by ensuring relevant documentation is available and up-to-date during audits and inspections.
* Assist in compiling and delivering project handover packages, including O&M manuals, as-builts, and certificates.
* Generate periodic document control reports, outstanding registers, and compliance checklists.
* Train and support project teams in document control practices and system usage.
* Additional Duties as assigned by your manager
Requirements
* Proven experience (2+ years) in document control, preferably in construction, engineering, or renewable energy sectors.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards and document control procedures.
* Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or similar platforms).
* Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage large volumes of documents under tight deadlines.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
* Competency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Right to work in Ireland.
Preferred
* Previous experience on solar PV or renewable EPC projects.
* Knowledge of engineering terminology and technical documentation formats.
* Experience supporting QA/QC, HSE, or project delivery teams.
