This site is recognized as a centre of excellence for the development and production of complex injectable drugs, utilising cutting-edge technology and sophisticated manufacturing processes.
This is a contract role within the
Packaging Engineering
department, reporting to the Packaging Manager.
You will be a key technical lead, working closely with cross-functional teams including Tech Services, Manufacturing, Quality, and Maintenance to drive performance and reliability across the packaging lines.
Responsibilities
Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Operator Availability improvements across manual and automated packaging lines.
Lead process improvements for Visual Inspection equipment (manual, semi-automated, and automated).
Serve as the technical expert for packaging equipment such as cartoners, labellers, track & trace systems, and automated assembly machines for vials, syringes, and cartridges.
Lead capital projects for equipment upgrades and new installations, focusing on equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
Ensure full compliance with the site quality system, managing Change Controls, Investigations (IRs), and CAPAs.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Experience / Qualifications
A university bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Packaging Engineering, or a related scientific field is preferred.
Proven experience in a packaging engineering role within a GMP-regulated environment (pharma, medical device, or food).
Strong technical knowledge of packaging equipment technologies and development, with experience working with vendors like Optel, Brevetti, Marchesini, or ACG being a strong advantage.
Competent in project management and the use of IT systems such as SAP, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office suite.
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team to meet critical deadlines.
