Duties
As an R&D Test Technician, you will carry out testing and assembly activities to support new product development and ensure our client's products meet quality and performance standards.
Working closely with the New Product Introduction and Qualification Teams, you will perform electronic and electro-mechanical testing, operate and troubleshoot automated test sequences, and complete read-point testing on qualification units.
You will accurately record and document results, flagging anomalies and supporting investigations, while also assisting with prototype builds through wiring, soldering and basic fault-finding.
Additionally, you will:
* Support end-of-line testing on production units when required
* Carry out mechanical and electrical inspections of incoming components against specifications
* Support engineers with test setup, inspection and analysis
* Conduct failure analysis on returned products
* Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, calibration schedules and component stock
What our client needs from you
To be considered as an R&D Test Technician, you will need:
* A minimum of two years of industry-relevant experience
* Experience of electronic product assembly and/or PCB rework
* Familiarity with the operation of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes for component tests
* An NFQ Level 6 qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related engineering or science discipline
