Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management.
Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.

As a
Quality Technician you will
be responsible for
maintaining
the effectiveness of the quality system.
Ensur
e
the area is compliant to site and divisional policies and procedures.
Support the building and maintenance of successful cross functional relationships with departments such as R&D, Technical, Engineering, Operations and Regulatory Affairs
in order to
achieve all operational goals
.
This is a
shift based
role on 4 cycle
shift
.
Key Responsibilities
M
aintain
the effectiveness of the Quality System
Ensur
e
the site
provides
safe and effective products that meet customer needs while
maintaining
compliance.
Assist
engineering in collecting, compiling, measuring, and recording data
.
Support continuous improvement through continuous maintenance of the quality management systems.
Maintain the quality and compliance of associated quality records.
R
ais
e any
Quality / Compliance issues
.
Present and communicate status, report metrics,
identify
potential issues,
and
improvement initiatives, as applicable.
Ensure
audit readiness tasks
are actioned
within area of responsibility
.
I
dentify
projects to enhance the effectiveness and effectiveness of the quality system and product quality.
Support Operations to make Quality / Compliance decisions on product during processing, manufacturing,
and
testing
.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum NFQ Level 6 Qualification in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing qualification
Minimum 2
years experience
in
food/medical/pharmaceutical
industry
Strong communication
Strong attention to detail.
