Chief II Respiratory Physiologist Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent | Candidate Criteria: Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) or an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS) or possess the Certificate in Medical Physics & Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology or an equivalent scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science awarded in or before 2005 Experience Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime) relevant post qualification experience. The Purpose of This Role: We are now inviting applications for the position of Chief II Respiratory Physiologist. As the Chief II Respiratory Physiologist you will be at the forefront of our respiratory services, responsible for leading a dedicated team of professionals in the diagnosis and management of respiratory disorders. Your expertise will guide innovative practices and ensure the highest standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities: The person holding this post is required to support the principle that the care of the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree. Manage the department by providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership, which results in the delivery of effective, efficient and patient centered Respiratory service. Lead, manage and motivate the Respiratory team, ensuring optimum and effective use of staff and delegating responsibility and accountability as appropriate Utilise advanced skills in patient assessment and undertake appropriate clinical decisions and actions referring to Respiratory Consultants/RMOs, as appropriate. Engage with Respiratory clinical lead for the delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic tests. Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, and set and monitor standards of practice Advise on equipment selection, purchase, replacement and upgrading Keep the Operational Delivery Officer, Respiratory Consultants and appropriate Heads of Department appraised of any significant development within your area of responsibility.
