Job Description
About the Position:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Contracts team. As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for electrical engineering activities on Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, pumping stations, and Data Centre Water Treatment Projects across Europe.
No two days will be the same, so your activities will vary and will be agreed with the Contracts Manager. You will support the design team through the process up to and including onsite installation and commissioning.
This role offers varied and challenging experiences, providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting and system integration.
* Complete electrical design review to identify gaps, deviations, or contradictions in specifications.
* Validate cable sizing and make recommendations.
* Compile and issue technical submittals.
* Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Manage electrical aspects of projects and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
* Review electrical installation with the BIM team for constructibility and space considerations.
* Liaise with design and supply chain teams to ensure system compliance.
* Manage vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion.
* Develop Site Instruction Packs, handover packs, and test packs.
* Participate in quality meetings and QA/QC walk-downs.
* Review and respond to technical site queries.
* Issue requisitions and verify materials against specifications.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including automation, mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience with 3-phase industrial installations, including motors, starters, control panels, PLCs, and instrumentation.
* Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble for electrical design/layout.
* Knowledge of Safe Electric certification standards.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
* Leadership and project responsibility skills.
* Qualifications: Third-level Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
