Experienced Project Architect (6-Month Maternity Contract)
Courtney McDonnell Architects is a design‑led architectural studio specialising in residential architecture and interiors. We are a small, collaborative practice focused on delivering thoughtful, high‑quality homes.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect for a 6‑month maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will manage a number of residential projects across multiple stages, from design coordination through to on‑site delivery.
This role is ideal for a registered architect, or an architect eligible to register, who is confident taking ownership of projects and working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Lead the day‑to‑day management of multiple residential projects at varying stages and on site
Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers
Review drawings, detailing, and site progress to ensure design quality and intent are maintained
Carry out site inspections and oversee project timelines, quality, and delivery
Resolve on‑site issues through technical expertise and creative problem‑solving
Ensure projects are delivered smoothly and efficiently at every stage
Requirements
Be RIAI registered, or eligible for registration without further assessment
Have strong design ability and a good understanding of interior fit‑out and finishes
Possess proven experience in construction‑stage project delivery
Be confident managing multiple projects independently
Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
Have a solid understanding of planning regulations and building legislation
Be organised, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects
Communicate confidently with clients, consultants, and site teams
Have substantial on‑site experience managing contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
Software Skills
AutoCAD
SketchUp
Enscape
Microsoft Excel
A full driving licence would be an advantage.
