Product Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer, Data Center Mechanical Solutions

Amazon Web Services is seeking a mechanical engineer to be part of a global engineering team responsible for ownership and continuous improvement related to data center liquid cooling infrastructure products within our rapidly expanding data center footprint.
The role requires hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience in liquid cooling products, leadership in cooling product design, an understanding of cooling principles, and knowledge of quality manufacturing practices.
You should be able to comprehend detailed equipment specifications, piping systems, pumping systems, and air-handler systems and evaluate design change implications.
Key Job Responsibilities
Possess strong engineering judgement and provide recommendations despite uncertainty.
Be detail- and data-oriented.
Engineer air handling, piping and/or pumping products.
Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
Work with global liquid-cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
Build trust and relationships with stakeholders such as reliability, operations, design, and compliance.
Handle concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones.
Explain complex systems in clear and concise language.
Support operations, including failure-mode and root-cause analysis, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operating-procedure review for mechanical and electrical issues.
Listen to the voice of the customer to identify improvements that increase product reliability or availability.
Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements and oversee root-cause analysis.
Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale.
Travel intermittently (approximately 30%) this role may require domestic and international travel.
This position can be based out of Dublin, IRL.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
Experience in commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer license.
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
