Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of quality assurance and control within the manufacturing environment. They will oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
* Quality Management Systems:
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with industry standards
* Establish and maintain quality policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and best practices.
* Conduct internal audits and assessments to monitor compliance with QMS requirements and identify areas for improvement.
* Quality Assurance and Control:
* Develop and implement quality control measures and inspection procedures
* Establish and maintain inspection criteria, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
* Perform product and process audits to verify compliance with quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Investigate non-conformities, root causes, and corrective/preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
* Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
* Supplier Quality Management:
* Establish and maintain supplier quality assurance processes.
* Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements and regulatory standards.
* Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve product quality, and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
* Customer Quality Management:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
* Collaborate with customers to understand their quality expectations, feedback, and performance metrics.
* Manage customer complaints, returns, and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
* Implement quality improvement tools and methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, 5S, and root cause analysis, to drive sustainable improvements.
* Monitor quality performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive accountability for quality objective
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is a plus.
* Proven experience in quality management roles, preferably in the aerospace or plastics manufacturing industry.
* In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements, such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 is a plus.
* Strong understanding of plastics manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control methods.
* Experience leading and managing quality management systems, audits, and corrective/preventive actions.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is desirable.
