The overall purpose of this role is to work under the supervision of the Health and Safety Officer to support the day to day management of Health & Safety Department. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Assist the H&S Officer with activities in relation to preparation with JCI Accreditation Minute the H&S meetings and ensure issues are closed and appropriate documentation and recordings are completed. Assist with document control via Q Pulse system Deputise in absence of H&S Officer in ensuring accident and incident investigations and corrective actions and follow up effectiveness of these actions Perform regular Fire drills as per scheduleand complete related documentation Perform regular Health & Safety Audits as per schedule and complete related documentation Perform regular Spill Drills and complete related documentation Perform regular Departmental Fire Risk Assessments and complete related documentation Perform regular Fire Warden Training Sessions and complete related documentation Assist the H&S Officer with the SDS Chemical Manager monitoring Perform the weeklyHousekeeping auditing and monitoring Confidentiality You will be aware of the confidential nature of work and in particular, the right of patients to confidentiality. To this end you will not discuss workings of the Beacon Hospital or its patients with people outside Beacon Hospital, save as required to do so in the course of your work. Person Specification Qualifications Certificate in Health & Safety and Environmental Management (Minimum). Experience Previous work experience preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience in carrying outRisk Assessments Experience in carrying outdetailed FireRisk Assessments Experience in Fire Warden activities and Fire drill procedures. Excellent administrative skills. Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge Excellent computer skills/aptitude. Create and promote healthy working relationships. Be methodical, logical, efficient and highly organised. The incumbent will be required to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills necessary to respond to a changing situation. Personal Competencies Flexible and adaptable in approach to duties.
