Lead Safety Advisor – Cork City- Main Contractor
Overview
AA Euro Group is seeking an experienced Lead Safety Advisor to join a major mixed‑use development project in Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of Ireland's leading main contractors, delivering a high‑profile project in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for safety leadership onsite and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and welfare across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on‑site leadership and management for all Health & Safety activities on the project.
* Develop, implement, and monitor the project‑specific Safety Management Plan.
* Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
* Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, training sessions, and safety briefings.
* Liaise with project management teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on all Health & Safety matters.
* Lead incident/accident investigations and ensure follow‑up measures are completed.
* Prepare and maintain detailed H&S documentation, reports, and records.
* Promote a best‑practice safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the site.
Requirements
* A minimum of 5+ years experience in a construction Health & Safety role, ideally with a main contractor.
* Proven experience in a senior or lead safety position on large‑scale construction projects.
* Relevant Health & Safety qualification(s), such as:
* Level 7/8 Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety
* NEBOSH Certification (desirable)
* IOSH Membership (advantageous)
* Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations and safety management systems.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Ability to influence and build strong working relationships with site teams and subcontractors.
* Proactive approach with strong problem‑solving abilities.
