Client Finance Manager - Europe

The Client Finance team is responsible for leading a team of finance professionals, establishing a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the delivery of high-caliber service related to client transactions. The role involves managing client accounts, financial reporting, stakeholder communication, and team leadership.

Key roles

Manage client accounts, oversee financial operations, prepare reports, and ensure compliance. Collaborate across departments, maintain client relationships, monitor billing, and implement internal controls. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage client accounts and related financial operations.
2. Prepare and analyze financial reports and reconciliations.
3. Coordinate with departments to ensure seamless processes.
4. Maintain and strengthen client relationships.
5. Monitor billing and fee collections.
6. Implement and improve internal controls.
7. Stay informed on industry trends and regulations.
8. Create new accounts and manage payments.
9. Support client-facing staff in financial discussions.
10. Monitor client payments and address concerns.
11. Present financial reports to management.
12. Perform monthly reconciliations and manage bank transactions.
13. Liaise with stakeholders on account queries.
14. Manage stop payments, out-of-date cheques, and lodgments.
15. Record banking transitions and manage fees.
16. Manage close processes and fund returns.
17. Cross-train in other accounts and assist in debt management.
18. Post journals and process foreign currency payments.
19. Resolve client funds issues promptly.
20. Engage in finance projects and perform ad hoc duties.

Leadership and Management

1. Lead and recruit finance team members.
2. Build relationships with shared service centers and global teams.
3. Mentor team members and conduct performance reviews.
4. Collaborate on strategic planning and identify growth opportunities.

Financial Operations and Accounting

1. Oversee financial operations ensuring accuracy and compliance.
2. Maintain robust accounting processes and reconciliations.
3. Collaborate with various departments.

Qualifications/skills

* Accountancy/Business qualification or progress in accountancy technician’s course preferred.
* Insurance qualification (APA) desirable.
* Experience in insurance or client portfolio roles beneficial.
* Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with SUN/SAP is a plus.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software.
* Attention to detail, highly numeric, and organized.

* Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
* Effective communicator and team player.
* Motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
* High attention to detail and proactive approach.
