About the job
As the Engineering Manager for QVAC, our Local AI SDK, you will lead a cross‑functional team of C++ and JavaScript developers focused on building and optimizing AI tools for local deployment. You will oversee the development lifecycle from planning to deployment in a fast-paced environment where performance and efficiency are critical. You will report to the Head of AI Development and contribute to advancing our AI capabilities for edge computing applications.
Responsibilities
* Own timely and high‑quality delivery of features by establishing clear milestones, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with the project management team to track progress and mitigate risks.
* Manage team leads and individual contributors, organize workflows according to the product roadmap, including resource allocation, sprint planning, and performance evaluations to foster growth and productivity.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product management and research) to ensure SDK compatibility across platforms, resolve integration issues, and align on technical standards.
* Ensure that solutions developed meet high technical standards and follow robust architectural practices established within the company.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* 8+ years of combined experience in JavaScript and C++ development, with proven engineering management experience leading SDK or similar software development projects, including hands-on involvement in architecture design and team scaling.
* Strong understanding of AI frameworks and low‑level hardware optimizations (GPU/CPU acceleration, tensor operations, memory management) essential for efficient local AI inference.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of leading large teams (40+ members) through complex projects, including conflict resolution, mentoring, and stakeholder management.
Nice to have
* Experience with AI SDKs (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime) for local deployment.
* Familiarity with cross‑platform development, including WebAssembly for JavaScript integration with C++ backends.
