Job Description:
Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Stay updated on new legislation and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
Promote health-related risk awareness and provide on-site training.
Foster a proactive EHSQ culture through employee awareness and training programs.
Develop, review, and communicate all health and safety policies and procedures.
Organize and oversee health and safety training for staff.
Manage safety officers and assign them to live sites.
Ensure subcontractor compliance with health and safety legislation on-site.
Conduct accident and incident investigations and prepare reports.
Maintain accident and incident statistics and liaise with insurance providers regarding claims.
Develop health and safety plans for projects and liaise with statutory bodies such as the HSA.
Implement and audit ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, and maintain SafeTcert accreditation.
Perform site safety audits and inspections.
Provide guidance to safety officers and ensure safety activities are incorporated into all company procedures.
Address safety non-conformances and propose improvements.
Report safety issues to senior management.
Order safety supplies and assist marketing in promoting safety initiatives.
Support tender processes and client presentations.
Manage safety campaigns like Safety Week and chair safety meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
BSc in Health and Safety, Higher Diploma SHWW, or Diploma SHWW.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
Deep knowledge of Irish Health and Safety legislation.
