The M&E Project Engineer will be a key project role within the Company's operations, working within the Engineering Department. The position is an onsite customer based role and requires a broad knowledge of and experience in the range of technical roles and responsibilities carried out by this department. The individual will provide the customer with independent M&E advice on proposed Building Services repair and reactive works from a 3rd party facilities provider.
Responsibilities
* Provide the customer with independent M&E cost advice on proposed Building Services repair and reactive works from 3rd party facilities provider. Interrogating costs to ensure the customer is deriving value for money
* Assist the customer's maintenance team to manage and monitor reactive works from receipt to completion
* Providing technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases
* Design and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction set of documents and work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate mechanical and electrical equipment
* Manage and monitor Life Safety investment proposals and be point of contact for the customer's Engineering Services team
* Explore data patterns and relationships from reactive work orders to derive helpful insights
* Adherence and monitoring of project programmes to include regular progress tracking
* Reviewing and approving equipment submittals
* Providing technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases
* Overseeing the installation of projects on Customer sites, to include all elements of Quality, Health and Safety and Technical compliance
* Consult on high value capitalised & revenue equipment repairs/replacement
* Compiling list of Service Delivery processes (mapped and unmapped)
* Preparing library of as-is processes, while developing new processes maps/procedures for unmapped processes
* Legislative Change Implications - assist the customer's Engineering Services team to complete GAP analysis of legislative requirements and development of templates to close any GAPs, inclusive of the Fire Assessment Strategy, Emergency Lighting Guidance, Asbestos Register, Chemicals Register, etc.
Candidate Profile
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Level 7) with a minimum 5 years' post qualification experience
* Working towards Chartered Engineer status desirable but not a requirement
* Excellent understanding of the European Codes and standards
* Knowledge of Irish building codes and regulations
* Possess leadership and problem-solving skills
* A good appreciation of the practices defined within ISO9001 Quality documentation
* A good grasp of all the technical design elements required in conducting the Company's business
* Be a motivated, highly dependable individual with solid communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to maintain high quality standards
* Demonstrate leadership qualities to maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
* Ability to quickly identify and remove roadblocks
* Proactively organises and plans ahead to ensure optimum resource allocation and project timelines are met
* Ability to work on multiple projects of different scale and complexity at any one time
* An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability or maintainability
* Enjoys solving problems, interacting with customers, suppliers and contractors and eager to maintain strong constructive relationships.
