Assistant Lecturer in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Electrical) (Permanent Wholetime) (Reference: 801a/2024)The Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment at TU Dublin is the largest provider of higher education in Ireland in the relevant disciplines. The Faculty places significant emphasis on the professional recognition of its programmes. The Faculty offers a range of apprenticeship programmes and unique and innovative programmes in a modular format including higher certificate, degree, master degree and postgraduate research. The Faculty aspires to be a leader in apprenticeship, mechanical engineering, sustainable design, construction and management of modern infrastructure.The appointee will play an important role within the School of Mechanical Engineering, in terms of teaching and applied research, with particular emphasis on the area of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with a specific focus on the electrical systems and components and, more generally refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems. The appointee will be required to teach on a range of programmes within the School of Mechanical Engineering, including theory, practical and project based modules. The appointee will be part of a team who will be involved in the regular revision of the programmes and the accreditation of these on a recurring basis. Appointees would be capable of working on their own or as part of a team as necessary and those teams may include members of the academic and professional, technical, administrative and management staff in the school.Hours of Work:This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and Faculty.Location:The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght.
