Dovida Ireland is currently seeking compassionate caregivers for our premium Live-in Service.
Our dedicated Live-in Caregivers provide a range of non-medical services, enabling clients to continue living in the comfort of their own homes.
These services enhance their quality of life, and our caregivers approach their work with dignity, pride, care, and compassion.
As a Live-in Caregiver, you will reside with the client and work on a set rotation for an agreed number of weeks.
Typically, this involves an 8-week rotation on followed by an 8-week rotation off.
While the following list outlines general duties, it is not exhaustive.
Responsibilities may vary based on individual client needs.
The Company reserves the right to modify this description as needed, with or without notice to employees.
These responsibilities are adaptable to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities of a Live-in Caregiver.
These services fall under three (3) categories:
1. Personal Care: Personal Care involves aiding with essential daily activities.
The main responsibilities within Personal Care services include: • Bathing Assistance: Helping clients with bathing.
• Dressing and Grooming Support: Assisting clients in dressing and grooming.
• Hygiene, Toileting, and Incontinence Care: Providing support for personal hygiene, toileting and managing incontinence.
2. Home Help: Home Help services encompass various tasks that contribute to maintaining a comfortable and functional living environment for clients.
These responsibilities include: • Light Housekeeping: Dusting, vacuuming, and tidying up.
Making beds and changing linens.
Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
Clearing surfaces.
Putting out the bins • Laundry Care: Washing, folding, and putting away laundry.
• Errands and Local Assistance: Running local errands, such as grocery shopping.
Accompanying clients to appointments.
• Pet Care: Providing basic care for household pets, including feeding.
• Outdoor Activities: Taking clients for walks or providing fresh air outings.
• Care Plan Updates: Regularly updating the care plan and communicating with Home Instead Care Managers regarding patient requirements.
• 3. Companionship Services: Companionship services focus on enhancing emotional well-being and promoting social interaction.
These responsibilities include: • Companionship and Conversation: Engaging in meaningful conversations with clients.
Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Mobility Assistance: Assisting clients with stability and movement.
Ensuring safety during walking and transfers.
• Medication and Appointment Reminders: Helping clients stay on track with medications.
Reminding them of important appointments.
• Meal Preparation and Cleanup: Preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.
Cleaning up meal-related items afterward.
• Assisting with the running of the household: changing lightbulbs, ordering heating oil, ensuring bins are put out.

• Confidentiality: Safeguard client information with utmost discretion.
• Errands and Transportation: Willingness to run errands and provide incidental transportation for clients.
• Motivated and Initiative: Consistently display enthusiasm, initiative, and a pleasant demeanor.
• Physical Fitness: Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including manual tasks.
• Flexible Availability: Able to work during a variety of care visit times, including overnights.
• Punctuality: Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
• Safety Focus: Maintain a safe environment for clients.
Skills and Qualifications: • Qualification: Hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare which covers the required modules of
1) Care Skills and
2) Care of the Older Person or be actively working towards it.
If you do not currently have a relevant QQI qualification in healthcare, the company may provide relevant modules after successful recruitment.
• Training: Complete mandatory online training through HSELand and the Dovida Academy during the recruitment process.
• Hands-On Training: Attend mandatory in-person training on Patient Moving and Manual Handling with Dovida trainers.
• Driving License: Possess a full EU driving license as may be required • Experience: Have at least 6 months of previous experience as a Live-in Caregiver.
• Background Check: Be able to pass a background check for each country present in for 6 months or more from the age of 16.
• Language Proficiency: Communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing) to an appropriate level.
• Passport/National ID card for travel • Basic IT skills: Needed for continuous training across multiple platforms, submittal of daily timesheets through MS Forms and access to MS Teams.
Caregiver Pay Rates: • Hourly rate of pay €***** per hour, Monday to Saturday.
• Hourly rate of pay €***** on Sunday.
• The On-Call allowance at €20 per night Monday – Saturday and €30 for Sunday.
If you already hold the QQI qualification in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person or equivalent your hourly rate is: • Hourly rate of pay €***** per hour Monday to Saturday.
• Hourly rate of pay €***** per hour on Sunday.
The On-Call allowance • €20 per night Monday - Saturday • €30 for Sunday night.
