Overview
Social Care Worker / Senior Support Worker opportunities at Orchard Care Group. Roles available within the Orchard Community Care division at our homes in Corlea and Kilshrewley, Co. Longford, for full time and part time positions.
We are expanding to provide additional services to meet the needs of those we care for. Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by professionals including psychologists, behavioural therapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists.
Responsibilities
* Engage in daily activities and routines of the service, providing dedicated direct support to the people we care for and contributing to their development, health, and wellbeing.
* Be accountable for supporting the day to day running of the service with a person-centred approach.
* Ensure residents\' personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards.
* Motivate, support and encourage people to engage in planned activities and to promote independence and community integration.
* Engage with families, clinicians and build links in the community.
* Experience implementing positive support programmes.
* Keep up to date with current social care policies and sector changes related to disability services.
* Lead key working in consultation with the people we support and take ownership of workload within the team.
* Provide personal care and an overview of everyday needs where appropriate.
* Attend regular team meetings and engage in supervisions with the Person in Charge.
* Undertake health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report effectively.
* Administration and management of medication in line with policy, in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
* Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, families and other relevant people.
* Be flexible to work shifts to meet the service needs (rolling rosters, day and night shifts).
* Undertake any other work within the scope of the role as required to meet service requirements.
Requirements
Essential
* Qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant area (e.g., Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community).
* Full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
* Eligibility and availability to work with us.
Desirable
* At least one year of recent experience in the social services sector.
