Children’s Disability Network Team

Newly qualified Occupational Therapists and/or soon to qualify Occupational Therapists (2025) who are awaiting final exam results are welcome to apply!
This is an exciting opportunity for a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join our service to support children, presenting with complex needs arising from a disability, and their families.
The Occupational Therapist is a valuable member of the Children’s Disability Network Team who will provide a quality evidence-based service in line with Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles including family-centred practice.
This permanent post is assigned to the Ballymun Children’s Disability Network Team.
The successful candidate must have the following:
Essential Criteria
* Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy accredited to the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
* Fully registered or registration in process with CORU.
* Proven post qualification or final clinical placements experience working with children with complex needs arising from a disability.
* Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work in a self-directed manner.
* Excellent ability to work with complex cases as part of a team.
* Committed to the delivery of quality, family-centred, community-based services.
* Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in the relevant area.
Desirable Criteria
* Clinical experience of working with children with a variety of complex needs including ASD, Intellectual Disability and Physical Disability.
* Experience in supporting 24-hour postural management needs with a recognised seating/postural management course completed.
* Experience in the implementation of sensory integration approaches with a recognised sensory integration course completed.
* Previous experience related to Assessment of Need.
* Full clean driving licence and use of a car.
A panel will be created for future employment opportunities, across the 4 St Michael’s House Children’s Disability Network Teams.
There may be opportunity for part-time posts to share a full-time post if interested parties are successful.
