Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Overview
We are collaborating with one of Ireland's leading contractors, who is experiencing rapid growth across various sectors.
The successful applicant will work between our client's office and multiple sites in Dublin, handling a range of projects including residential, fit-out, education, and industrial construction.
Responsibilities
* Analyzing blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor costs vs estimates
* Performing all quantity surveying duties, including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
* Experienced in project management, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
* Competent in estimating packages, Microsoft Excel, and Word
* Consulting with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments or construction managers/supervisors to discuss cost
* Monitoring vendor or subcontractor costs, exploring variances, managing issues in conjunction with the manager, and dealing with cost recovery overseas
* Reporting on actual costs and examining estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
* Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals during the project
* Evaluating the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services by tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project progresses
Requirements
* Minimum degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying
* Minimum 5 years of experience in the field
* Ability to price and estimate projects
* Ability to agree final accounts and negotiate with subcontractors
