A career within PwC’s Consulting Healthcare team offers the opportunity to work with leading organisations across Ireland’s health system on their most complex strategic, operational and digital challenges. As a PwC Director, you will play a key leadership role in driving business development practice growth, developing market offerings and strengthening PwC’s reputation as a leader in healthcare transformation. You will operate as a trusted advisor to senior healthcare leaders, guiding clients through strategic decisions, regulatory and policy change, digital transformation and organisational redesign. You will shape and lead large‑scale transformation programmes, helping clients enhance patient and service‑user outcomes and system performance, and bring data‑driven insight, strategic clarity and operational excellence to a rapidly evolving sector.

Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
Drive personal and team business development, client relationship management and winning major healthcare contracts, expanding relationships to develop sell‑on and future opportunities.
Make significant contributions to the growth of our healthcare business through client relationship management and business development.
Inform the development of sector‑wide strategy and account plans aligned with the Consulting and firm strategy, and lead implementation of these.
Drive PwC's go‑to‑market approach, offering differentiation in the healthcare market.
Develop sector thought leadership and represent PwC as an expert in specialist domains.
Client Leadership & Advisory
Lead end‑to‑end client engagements—from defining the win strategy to overseeing successful delivery of agreed outcomes.
Act as a senior advisor to senior health system leaders, shaping transformation agendas across strategy, operations, digital enablement and service change.
Diagnose complex challenges and design practical, innovative solutions grounded in sector insight and evidence.
Delivery Oversight
Oversee a portfolio of multi‑year complex transformation programmes, ensuring delivery quality, robust risk management and alignment with client objectives.
Provide subject‑matter expertise across service redesign, operating model, operational excellence, health workforce, digital health or health technology.
People Leadership
Build and lead high‑performing teams that embody PwC values of collaboration, inclusion and excellence.
Mentor and coach Senior Managers and Managers to support their growth and capability development.
Take a leading role in practice development, identifying areas for capability improvement, retaining top talent and driving a culture of excellence.
Technical & Sector Expertise
Strategic healthcare service planning, service redesign and transformation, care pathway design and implementation of new healthcare service models.
Operational, financial and performance improvement and productivity measures with realisation of savings.
Health workforce in the context of broad health service or system transformation, change and implementation.
Technology‑enabled transformation in healthcare, including change, adoption and benefits realisation.
Healthcare sector procurement, transformation delivery, programme management or change management.
Healthcare capital and infrastructural planning, or capacity and demand modelling.
Your profile
10‑12+ years of experience in healthcare consulting with demonstrable success delivering complex transformation programmes.
Deep and demonstrable understanding of the Irish healthcare system, policy environment and sector‑specific challenges.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in complex, multi‑layered organisations.
Strong commercial acumen, including pipeline building and proposal leadership.
Ability to translate complex issues into meaningful outcomes for healthcare clients.
Experience leading and developing cross‑competency teams, leveraging global networks and/or delivery chains.
Commitment to innovation, digital enablement and continuous improvement in healthcare.
Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
Track record of client relationship management and winning and delivering new work within a consulting practice.
Master’s degree, MBA or relevant professional qualification.
Existing network of senior leaders across the Irish healthcare system.
