Leading Environmental Health and Safety Professional
The EHS Manager will play a pivotal role in our Project Team, providing specialist advice and support on Environment, Health, Safety, and Welfare matters across the business.
As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with EHS legislation and developing effective Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Key Responsibilities:
* Compliance & Integrated Management System: Oversee the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure adherence to relevant EHS laws. Establish Site-Specific Construction EHS Plans for each site.
* Risk Management: Identify high-risk activities and develop strategies to mitigate risks on site. Lead the creation of RAMS to minimize hazards.
* Training & Culture: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety alerts to employees and subcontractors. Foster a proactive safety culture by mentoring and coaching the H&S team.
* Incident & Inspection: Investigate incidents in line with company procedures. Monitor corrective actions to closure. Schedule and record statutory inspections in our SharePoint Safety hub.
* ISO & Continuous Improvement: Manage and maintain ISO standards. Provide EHS documentation and project support as required.
Requirements:
* Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
* At least 35 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety role, preferably in construction or engineering.
* Excellent communication skills, enabling collaboration with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
* Proficiency in IT and familiarity with SharePoint and MS Office.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to travel to sites.
* Proven people-management and coaching skills.
