Job Description

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements and regulatory approvals. Should you accept this position, you will ultimately become an employee of DePuy Synthes, with employment governed by its processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.


About The Role

This role serves as the primary driver of Manufacturing Innovations across all J&J MedTech supply chain sites in Europe (Ireland and the UK). The position reports to the Global Director of Manufacturing Innovation and requires a hands‑on approach with significant on‑site presence to engage and align customer operations with internal innovation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

* Customer Engagement – Work hand‑in‑glove with site leadership to understand frustrations and opportunities, monitoring manufacturing value streams for innovation impact.
* Manufacturing Solution Design and Delivery – Identify opportunities and collaborate with teams to formulate realistic, high‑impact innovation programmes with strong ROI.
* Best Value for Money – Develop fully costed programmes, secure funding and support from initiation to implementation, evaluating internal and external funding opportunities including government incentives.
* Site Roadmap Ownership – Own and deliver site innovation roadmaps aligned with KPIs, ensuring year‑on‑year impactful innovation pipelines.
* Programme Delivery – Accountable for programmes from inception to completion, maintaining schedule, budget, and risk management, delivering intended benefits.
* Cross‑functional Collaboration – Work collaboratively across functions to assess manufacturing solutions, ensuring customer needs are met with timely, impactful solutions.


Experience, Skills & Proficiencies Required

* Qualification or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Production and/or Operations Management.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Passionate about leading significant change initiatives with breakthrough results.
* Strong customer relationship management; ability to understand and address client frustrations and spot opportunities.
* Proven business experience, including regulated manufacturing environment, programme delivery and/or people management role.
* Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies and innovation ecosystems (desirable).

* Comfortable working across geographically dispersed locations.
* Participates in and understands compliance activities related to the role.
* Follows all local laws and policies, maintaining high integrity, ethics and compliance.
