The Opportunity Arup is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to support our growing industry-leading team in Dublin and Cork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a related field. This role involves leading complex projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the growth and development of our geo-environmental services.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage geo-environmental projects from inception to completion.
* Conduct site assessments and risk assessments.
* Design and procure geo-environmental site investigations.
* Manage and supervise ground investigations.
* Prepare risk assessments (GQRA and DQRA).
* Advise on soil reuse and prepare Regulation 27 and Regulation 28 applications.
* Develop and implement remediation strategies.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff.
* Liaise with clients (internal and external), stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
* Prepare detailed reports (e.g., PSA, DQRA and EIAR).
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
* Manage financial delivery of projects or geo-environmental elements of projects.
* Demonstrate commercial awareness and contribute to business development and client relationship management.
* Membership and active participation in relevant professional/industry bodies (e.g., IBN, IAH, EI, IGI, or equivalents) is an advantage.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field (Level 9 Master’s degree preferred).
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and standards.
* Proven track record in project management and team leadership, independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
* Chartered Environmental Consultant, Chartered Engineer, Professional Geologist, or be close to achieving the same.
