Overview The Law Society is inviting applications for a Financial Regulation Assistant in the Financial Regulation Section of the Regulation Department on specified purpose contract for maternity cover. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator/secretary proficient with Word and Excel. Familiarity with databases and case management systems would be an advantage. It is important that the successful candidate is flexible in their approach to work.Main Duties & Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will carry out the following duties in line with the Society's standards and strategic objectives and as directed by the Head of Financial Regulation. The duties primarily involve providing secretarial and administrative support to the executive team in the Financial Regulation Section.Updating and maintaining case management system, including scanning incoming postGeneral copy and dictaphone typingDealing with queries on regulatory history of solicitorsFiling of documentsMaintaining and updating various Excel spreadsheetsLiaising with team of investigating accountants and other executivesAssisting Financial Regulation Executives responsible for reporting accountants reports functionAnswering telephone and email queries from solicitors and accountants and assisting in dealing with such queriesDrafting correspondence to solicitors and accountantsPreparation of documentation for regulatory committee meetingsUploading documents onto the Intellidocs systemActing as receptionist at in-person meetings of regulatory committeesHosting virtual committee meetingsLiaising with committee membersOther miscellaneous duties assigned by the Head of Financial RegulationKnowledge & SkillsExcellent administrative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.A good eye for detail, and ability to carry out accurate and precise work under pressure and time constraints.An ability to work on his or her own initiative, as part of a team and be proactive in their role.Have a flexible approach to his or her work and responsibilities.Some experience working in a regulatory, legal or other professional environment.Remuneration & BenefitsSalary (DOE)Excellent working conditionsTraining & development opportunitiesPensionHow to ApplyTo apply for this role, please click on the 'Apply for this job' box in blue.Closing dateClose of Business: Friday, 12 December 2025We thank you for your interest in the Law Society of Ireland and your interest in this role.
