Matrix Recruitment is representing our client, a well-established organisation for an experienced
Accounts Assistant
to join its team.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in
Carlow
, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
In this role, you will handle a wide variety of accounting and payroll tasks to help ensure the smooth financial operations of the business.
You will work closely with a friendly and supportive team in an environment where animal welfare is highly valued.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting duties, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately
Oversee bookkeeping and prepare financial reports using Sage 50
Process payroll for approximately 30 employees through Thesaurus Payroll software
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
Handle invoicing, VAT returns (including postponed VAT), and debt collection
Respond quickly to VAT deadlines and manage account queries and credit control
Collaborate with team members to support smooth business operations
What Are We Looking For?
3+ years of experience in an accounting role
Proficiency in Sage 50 is a benefit
Experience processing payroll with Thesaurus Payroll software
Strong attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Enthusiastic about animal welfare
Proactive, with a supportive team approach
