Job Title:

Director of Financial Operations and Governance


About the Role

The Director of Financial Operations and Governance will contribute to the organisation's strategic vision, leading the Finance, Legal and Corporate Affairs department to achieve its objectives.

* Ensure financial activities are delivered to high standards and that the organisation complies with legal and financial obligations.
* Develop and implement the financial strategy, planning and performance management framework.
* Manage financial risk, forecasting, procurement policy and cost control mechanisms for long-term sustainability and regulatory compliance.
* Oversee the funding structure to ensure sufficient revenue from services to fund current and capital expenditure requirements.
* Lead and manage the Legal section to provide timely and accurate legal advice to the leadership team and across the organisation.
* Contribute to drafting and implementing new legislation, ensuring regulatory alignment and clarity.
* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Department of Health.
* Drive quality improvement through process review and implementation of efficient, informed solutions.


Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

* A relevant professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience as a Qualified Accountant.
* Minimum of 5 years' Senior Leadership/Management experience in a similar role, with a track record of delivering on business/regulatory objectives.
* In-depth knowledge of public sector financial management policies and guidelines.
* Experience managing legal, statutory, and regulatory compliance obligations of an organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior stakeholders, representing an organisational position and negotiating effectively.
* Significant experience in leading large, high-performing teams and enhancing best practice culture.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, risk evaluation, and adaptability to changing conditions.
* Proven ability to influence decisions, drive results, and execute change management programmes.
