Design Build Search is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading nationwide engineering consultancy based in Co. Galway
Our client is looking to appoint a highly experienced individual to head up and expand their urban water services capability. This is a leadership role focused on delivering forward-thinking solutions in wastewater networks, integrated urban drainage planning, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, and blue-green infrastructure.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping sustainable, climate-resilient urban environments by combining strong technical expertise with environmental awareness.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering urban drainage and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Oversee the design, modelling and delivery of wastewater networks, SuDS and integrated drainage strategies.
Drive the implementation of sustainable and blue-green infrastructure solutions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, environmental legislation and industry best practice.
Engage with local authorities, utilities, developers and key stakeholders to deliver coordinated drainage solutions.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement in urban water management approaches.
Requirements
Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering (or related discipline).
Chartered status (or working towards it) preferred; professional membership such as CIWEM advantageous.
Strong experience in wastewater networks, urban drainage and SuDS design/delivery.
Proven leadership and project management capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and climate-resilient infrastructure.
