About the roleAs an experienced bridge engineer, you will play an integral role in the design and delivery of our bridge and multidisciplinary projects. You will be supported throughout by our teams in Ireland and the UK.Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesWork with existing and new bridge and civil structures across a range of materials and forms, including superstructure, substructure and articulation elementsParticipate in early project stages, including scoping, surveys, inspection and investigative works, optioneering and scheme designUndertake detailed design work, including modelling, calculations and drawing production oversightPrepare documents, including technical reports, specifications and contract documentsUndertake independent design checking and provide construction stage supportInterface with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and design-build contractorsEssential RequirementsHold or will shortly achieve the title of CEng with Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE or equivalentA minimum of three years' relevant professional bridges design experience in the civil or structural engineering sectorFlexible, motivated and focusedGood technical knowledge and engineering understanding of bridgesExcellent attention to detailExperience in written and in-person interaction with external partiesGood knowledge of structural analysis software including finite element analysisGood knowledge of and experience in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and other standards including EurocodesComfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlinesFluent or highly proficient in spoken and written EnglishDesirableMultidisciplinary consultancy or contracting experience from allied civil engineering disciplines, such as highways, structures, geotechnics, rail or water.What to Expect When You JoinYou will be part of a highly motivated team recognised for technical skill and excellence.
