They are now seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their dedicated team and support their growing workload. The Role About the Company Our client is a well-established and reputable legal practice based in Cavan, recognised for its professional service and strong reputation in criminal defence and general litigation. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Secretary to join their team and support their solicitors in these busy practice areas. The Role This is a key support role within the firm, focused on criminal and civil litigation. The successful candidate will work closely with solicitors, managing case files, liaising with clients and third parties, and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations in a fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities Provide full secretarial and administrative support to solicitors in criminal and litigation matters. Prepare, type, and proofread legal documents, briefs, and correspondence. Manage case files, court documentation, and deadlines. Schedule and coordinate court appearances, client meetings, and consultations. Liaise with clients, counsel, Garda, and court offices professionally and confidentially. Assist with document lodgements, discovery, and service of proceedings. Handle dictation, file management, and general office administration. Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems. Support billing, fee note preparation, and time recording as required. Ad hoc duties Candidate Requirements Minimum 2 years' experience as a Legal Secretary/ Executive, ideally within criminal law and/or litigation. Excellent knowledge of court procedures and documentation. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems. High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with clients. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
