Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor | Galway
A leading and award-winning main contractor is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This company is at the forefront of modern methods of construction (MMC) and recognised for delivering high-quality developments across various sectors, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and collaborative delivery.
This is a key role for a commercially focused QS looking to take ownership of high-profile projects while contributing to team development and continuous improvement within a supportive and ambitious organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
6. Lead the financial management of key projects, ensuring robust cost control and commercial reporting
7. Liaise with the Commercial Manager to ensure alignment on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
8. Manage subcontractor packages including tendering, valuations, and payment cycles
9. Oversee monthly cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, and risk/value management
10. Support and guide junior team members, promoting best practice across the commercial function
11. Provide contractual advice and ensure full compliance with PWC and RIAI contract frameworks
12. Drive commercial performance through accurate reporting and proactive stakeholder engagement
13. Identify and implement improvements in systems, reporting, and cost strategies
Requirements:
14. Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
15. Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience, ideally in main contracting
16. Proven ability to manage subcontractor accounts and negotiate contract terms
17. Commercially astute, with strong reporting and financial analysis skills
18. Excellent knowledge of PWC and RIAI forms of contract
19. Proficiency in Excel and Cubit (or similar estimation software)
20. Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in decision-making and leadership
